## NHTSA's summary

Supersedes ATE\-13\-12 due to complete revision. Use the procedures in the following sections to initially configure a new VAS 6356 Test Instruments box for use with a VAS diagnostic laptop or tablet with ODIS Service ONLY. The ODIS Service diagnostic software installation routine automatically installs all VAS 6356 software and USB driver files. VAS 6356 software installation via CD/DVD media is not necessary. The configuration procedures extract the pre\-installed USB driver and network adapter files and configures a network connection. Successful configuration is confirmed with a connection test. This document covers initial VAS 6356 configuration on VAS diagnostic laptop and tablet devices with Windows® XP and Windows 7 operating systems.
