## NHTSA's summary

Engine Surge Or Hard Start \(X63 Warranty Extension\) This bulletin involves replacing the Exhaust Gas Recirculation \(EGR\) valve, if code P0404 is set. Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp \(MIL\) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes \(DTC\) has been set in the Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\): · P0404 \- EGR Position Sensor Performance \- \(Exhaust Gas Recirculation\). In addition, the customer may notice the following condition\(s\) due to the P0404 DTC being set: · An occasional engine surge can be felt. · Engine is hard to start at times.
