## NHTSA's summary

We are aware that many non\-functioning VAS 5054A Transmitter Heads submitted for warranty replacement are genuine devices that exhibit physical damage, tampering, damaged OBDII /USB connections, or are non\-genuine devices\*. VAS 5054A Transmitter Heads contain no user\-serviceable parts\! Any non\-functioning 5054A submitted for warranty replacements that are determined to have physical damage, tampering or are non\-genuine devices\*, are not eligible for replacement. The cost to replace damaged or non\-genuine devices submitted for warranty replacement must be assumed by the dealer.
