Service Information (Discontinuance of Service for Midtronics MCR Platform Battery Testers (MCR340V & MCR340VKT)): This document informs that due to decreased demand and lack of availability of parts for repairs, Midtronics US/Canada will discontinue service of all MCR battery testers effective October 31, 2014. Volkswagen dealers that currently use MCR340V or MCR340VKT models are affected. Volkswagen dealers that need to replace their MCR340V or MCR340VKT battery testers should order the new Midtronics VAS6161 battery tester from the Volkswagen Tools and Equipment Program web site. Effective March 2012, Midtronics obsoleted the MCR tester platform. Volkswagen dealer battery tester models MCR340V and MCR340VKT are included in this platform range.
