Service Information (VAS Diagnostic Device System Recovery Process Reminder): Due to their function as diagnostic tools, VAS diagnostic laptop and tablet devices are equipped with a proprietary Windows® 7 operating system. The key feature is the use of a partitioned hard drive for system recovery. In the event of operating system malfunctions due to lost or corrupt files, system recovery must be performed using the proprietary data stored on the partitioned hard drive. DO NOT USE the Panasonic Windows 7 installation CDs that may have been supplied with the device when new to perform operating system recovery! These CDs will install a standard, non-partitioned Windows 7 operating system that is not supported by VWGoA. This document informs to remind all affected Dealership Service & IT personnel.
