SSM 503752021-12-27. Service bulletin. Some 2016-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may exhibit a condition where the navigation voice prompts are inoperative after a SYNC map update. This may be due to an incomplete installation of the SYNC map software. If possible, using the original USB that installed the update, reperform the update and verify the navigation voice prompts have returned. Multiple reboots are expected when this update is being performed. Verify the Installation Is Complete message displays in the touch screen. If the original USB is not available, go to website https://syncnavigation.com/ford/home or https://syncnavigation.com/lincoln/home to download the files once more for the affected vehicle. For further map update support, reference the FAQ section on these websites.
SSM 502502021-12-07. Service bulletin. Some 2017 MKZ and Fusion vehicles equipped with memory seats and built on or before 03-Jun-2016 may exhibit a discharged battery or a battery drain condition. Before performing normal diagnostics, reprogram the driver door module (DDM) to the latest calibration using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS). Use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations from Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 493302020-12-04. Service bulletin. Some 2016-2018 Edge vehicles may exhibit an intermittently inoperative turn signal tick-tock sound from the instrument panel cluster (IPC) when the turn signal is active. Some 2013-2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with Electronic Shift On-The-Fly (ESOF) 4-wheel drive (4WD) may exhibit an intermittent grinding noise while driving in 2-wheel drive (2WD) mode most commonly on acceleration. This may be due to a loss of vacuum to the integrated wheel end (IWE) actuators and/or wear of the IWE components. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reprogram the transfer case control module (TCCM) and replace any worn vacuum and/or IWE components.
20B272020-11-04. Service bulletin. In affected vehicles, the transmission torque converter may overheat in certain driving conditions. If the torque converter overheats it can lead to adverse NVH, rough idle, and low performance concerns. Ultimately this will require internal transmission repairs to resolve the concern. Using the Professional Technician Society (PTS) website > OASIS tab > SYNC version, verify the vehicle SYNC software version. If the vehicle is at version 2.2 please update the module to the latest software level. After the software is updated make sure you shut the vehicle off, open the door for 2 minutes, then turn the key back on before testing the touch screen. If the software is at a later version than 2.2, proceed with normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00. Some 2011-2017 Fiesta vehicles may exhibit various concerns following IPC replacement including odometer displaying incorrect English or Metric units and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U2101 in multiple modules. If Programmable Module Installation (PMI) has been performed on the replacement IPC, disconnect the IPC, start a new Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software (FJDS) session and perform a PMI on the IPC. Do not reconnect the IPC until after the IDS or FJDS states it is unable to communicate with the IPC, then allow the PMI process to complete. This will automatically load the correct configuration and address any related DTCs or symptoms.
