# Service bulletin SSM 46790

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2017 E\-Series vehicles with 6.8L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with multiple DTCs such as P1336 and/or P0339. This may be due to wire chafe near the air conditioning \(A/C\) compressor due to an unsecured wire harness tie\-down strap locator. Before following normal diagnosis, inspect for wire chafe near A/C compressor. Repair any wire chafe damage following wiring repair instruction in the Wiring Diagram, Section 5\-1. Attach wire harness tie\-down strap locator to A/C compressor. For claiming, use causal part 12A581 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the service labor time standards \(SLTS\) manual.
