# Service bulletin SSP99

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Mazda Motor Corporation is extending the warranty coverage for dashboards on certain 2010 Mazda3 vehicles produced from October 7, 2008 through April 28, 2010. For certain 2010 Mazda3 vehicles, the warranty coverage for dashboard replacement for sticky surface condition only is extended to 10 years \(120 months\) from the original Warranty Start Date, with no mileage limitations. Any other condition for dashboard replacement, such as discoloration, warp, or material splitting, is covered only for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. On certain subject vehicles that are exposed to severe environmental conditions including high ambient temperature and humidity, the material used in the dashboard may deteriorate over time. If there is prolonged exposure and deterioration, the dashboard could develop a sticky surface. If a sticky dashboard surface condition exists, the dashboard must be replaced.

- [SA\-039/25](/bulletins/11022742.md), 2025-09-05, Service bulletin: UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage such \(melted, separating, etc.\) when parked near a glass building or Low\-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection. If a structure's windows create enough of a curve, the concave glass can focus the sun's rays onto a small area and acting like magnifiying glass direct the sunbeams into a hot pinpoint of light. This magnifcation of the sun's rays can cause damage to vehicle trim \(see examples\). Additional information and exemplar images regarding this phenomenon can be found by performing a google search.
