Service bulletin AHW-16-05

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

This document contains step-by-step instructions required to perform Windows 7 operating system recovery on VAS 6150 A through D diagnostic laptop devices ONLY. Due to their function as diagnostic tools, VAS diagnostic laptops are equipped with a proprietary Windows 7 operating system. Unlike their commercially-available Panasonic equivalents, VAS laptops utilize a partitioned hard drive. The Windows 7 recovery instructions provided here supersede any information contained in Panasonic manuals that may be included with the laptop. Additional post-recovery setup steps are called out separately for VAS 6150A and VAS 6150D. This document supersedes AHW-16-01 due to revised and additional information for VAS 6150D.
