# Service bulletin 09018173351

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10118129
- Published by NHTSA: 2017\-09\-27
- Manufacturer's number: 09018173351
- Manufacturer's date: 2017\-05\-22
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

## NHTSA's summary

Some customers may complain that the ambient temperature display is not accurate, or it takes too long for the display to show actual temperature. When you encounter a customer with this concern, first verify the condition when the customer noticed this symptom. If the condition is similar to the following "CONTROL LOGIC OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE" or "DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY AND OTHERS", advise the customer that this is a normal characteristic of the vehicle and not a malfunction. If the condition does not meet the following and the sensor malfunction is suspected, make sure to inspect the sensor according to MGSSonline or Workshop Manual \(section 09\-22 AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION\). Replace the sensor only when it fails the Workshop Manual inspection.

- [07\-002\-23](/bulletins/10232300.md), 2023-03-03, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Some customers may complain that the ambient temperature on the instrument cluster is displayed more than 50 °F \(10°C\) lower than the actual temperature, resulting in insufficient performance of the air conditioning. This is caused by inappropriate soldering in the ambient temperature sensor. To eliminate this concern, the soldering process has been enhanced since December 2021 at the supplier.
