Service bulletin 122-C8W5T-06

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Concerns: Charging electronics Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. Implausible fault entries can be stored in the fault memory on the affected vehicles even though there is no fault in the system due to a software error in the charging electronics.

The document

The document is the manufacturer's. This site does not hold it. NHTSA files a document at one of these two addresses; we have not asked NHTSA which.

Vehicles listed
PORSCHE PANAMERA S E-HYBRID2014 (the catalog's model; the bulletin names a series or trim of it)

Listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned: the document says which.

122-H5U6B-062019-06-24. Service bulletin. Technical Bulletin detailing new Special Tool, Flexray Vehicle Network Tester, which is now a required tool to communicate with the vehicles modules and the Porsche in-house tester known as the PIWIS Tester III.
122-P6P7K-102017-11-08. Service bulletin. There is increased friction in the air spring compressor valves at temperatures below ?13° F (?25° C). This can result in a situation in which the maximum control current is not sufficient to actuate the valves. As a result, a warning message will be displayed in the instrument cluster and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) will stop working temporarily. Re-program PASM control unit using the PIWIS Tester with software version 33.010.030 (PIWIS Tester 3) or version 17.100.030 (PIWIS Tester II) or a higher software version installed.
122-J5A5S-052017-09-14. Service bulletin. Concerns: High-voltage battery control unit Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. New software for the high-voltage battery control unit is available for the affected vehicles. This software improves or corrects the following: The temperature of the high-voltage battery is monitored by two temperature sensors for each cell module. The current diagnostic setup of the high-voltage system does not allow for this redundancy and causes the warning message "Hybrid system failure - Park vehicle safely" to be displayed in the instrument cluster if one temperature sensor fails even though the temperature of the cell module is still monitored reliably by the remaining sensor.
122-J8S7Q-062017-08-01. Service bulletin. Concerns: Power electronics for the high-voltage system Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. A fault can occur in the temperature monitoring system for the high-voltage system at low outside temperatures due to a software error in the power electronics. If this happens, the yellow warning message "Hybrid system fault" will be displayed in the instrument cluster and the performance of the electric motor will be reduced by up to 50%. But the vehicle can still be driven.
122-A2N2B-062017-08-01. Service bulletin. Concerns: ? Decoupler for hybrid system ? High-voltage battery control unit Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. ? Minimal clutch slip can occur on the decoupler for the hybrid system in certain driving conditions on new vehicles with a lowmileage as a result of corrosion protection residues. As a result, the error message "Hybrid system failure - Park vehicle safely" can appear in the instrument cluster. The vehicle is ready to drive again after switching the ignition off and on again, but the fault can occur again up to and including the tenth time the combustion engine is engaged. ? The history-based electric energy requirements, among other things, are taken into account when calculating the vehicle's electric range. Depending on the driving profile while transporting the vehicle (e.g. high electric energy requirements when manoeuvring the vehicle), the customer may find that a low electric range is displayed initially following vehicle delivery.
