# Service bulletin C1905

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

This Before\-In\-Service Campaign is being issued to address rear crankshaft seals on certain X12 and X15 Engines built in April 2017. Engines on the eligible list have an increased opportunity for a rear crankshaft seal leak. To prevent customer down time, this campaign authorizes certified repair locations to replace the rear crankshaft seal on eligible engines that are not yet in service.
