# Service bulletin B17\-034

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- [BBOM01062023](/bulletins/10229689.md), 2023-01-11, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Dealer Message \- During development, the idle stop enable criteria was mis\-set allowing idle stop to improperly engage while battery health is low. Under certain circumstances, after coming to a stop and engaging idle stop, the vehicle may not automatically restart. In most cases, the client can immediately restart the vehicle by selecting Park and pushing the Start button.
- [B23\-002](/bulletins/10229688.md), 2023-01-11, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Service Bulletin \- Under certain circumstances, after coming to a stop and engaging idle stop the vehicle may not restart automatically due to excessive cylinder pressure and/or low cranking torque. Typically, the client can immediately restart the vehicle by selecting Park and pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button. NOTE: If 23\-001 Product Update: PGM\-FI Idle Stop Software Update is applicable to the VIN, the PGM\-FI software must be updated first before the warranty extension applies. Acura is extending the warranty coverage for valve adjustment and starter replacement related to this condition to 10 years from the original date of purchase with no mileage limitation.
- [B23\-001](/bulletins/10229687.md), 2023-01-11, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Service Bulletin \- Under certain circumstances, after coming to a stop and the idle stop feature engages, the vehicle may not automatically restart. Typically, the customer can immediately restart the vehicle by selecting Park and pushing the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- [BTS\-151101 V2](/bulletins/10193296.md), 2021-05-14, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Replacement TCMs don’t come with trim data. After installation, you need to run a teach\-in \(hydraulic pressure characteristic calibration\) procedure with the HDS. The problem is that A/T DTC P287C \(transmission adaptive values not learned\) is set, which prevents teach\-in. This happens because the TCM is programmed to look for trim data any time the ignition is cycled. If the TCM doesn’t see that trim data, it sets A/T DTC P287C. If any DTCs are set, the TCM won’t initiate teach\-in and, as a result, can’t learn the trim data. It’s a classic catch\-22 situation.
- [SB\-16\-012](/bulletins/10193236.md), 2021-05-13, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. BACKGROUND American Honda has made several shift quality improvements in the 2015 and 2016 TLX V6. SYMPTOM There is a sensation of acceleration while coasting down a hill. There is a sensation of a surge while braking. The transmission feels like it stays in gear too long. CORRECTIVE ACTION Update the TCM software. Clear all DTC’s created during the update and do the idle learn procedure. This software update will change the way the transmission shifts. After the update it may take up to 30 miles for the transmission to adapt to the client’s driving habits.
- [JL0\-0000491](/bulletins/10193119.md), 2021-05-13, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. To ensure Acura clients have the best ownership experience, new software is sometimes released to improve the operation of our product. Recently, we released a software update for the audio, navigation, and hands\-free phone systems in your navigation equipped TLX. This software update provides functional and graphical improvements to make the systems more use friendly.
- [JN4\-00000846](/bulletins/10193116.md), 2021-05-13, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT. Our records indicate that a PRODUCT UPDATE has not been completed on this vehicle, refer to the address card for the affected VIN. When a vehicle passes behind the 2015 TLX, the Cross\-Traffic Monitoring \(CTM\) audible alert does not sound. The display screen shows the CTM indicators \(orange arrows\) only.
- [BBOM09152020](/bulletins/10180020.md), 2020-09-22, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Dealer Message \- Today, September 15, 2020, Acura is announcing a stop sale and emissions recall for certain 2017\-2020 MDX Sport Hybrid and 2014, 2016\-2020 RLX Sport Hybrid vehicles that may not properly clear specific diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\). Presence of these codes may prevent the vehicle from passing a smog test. Refer to your eResponsibility report or do an iN VIN status inquiry to determine which units in your inventory are affected.
- [B20\-039](/bulletins/10180018.md), 2020-09-22, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:GEARS; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. - [B20\-018](/bulletins/10173188.md), 2020-04-03, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN. Service Bulletin \- The Malfunction Indicator Lamp \(MIL\) may illuminate and set DTC P061B \(PCM internal malfunction torque calculation\).
