Service bulletin 167-T1701-04

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

The groups of vehicles outlined in the three separate work procedures, set forth below, have different design and assembly variations. When performing Campaign A8310, Starter Cable Recall procedure, technicians should confirm that the work procedure being used with respect to Starter Cable and P- Clip orientation is the correct work procedure for the model and year of the vehicle being repaired. Failure to follow the correct work procedure could result in incorrect harness routing and decreased harness clearances to other components, as designed. Proper harness retention clip (P-Clip) orientation and location and harness routing is required to maintain design clearances from other components. 2005MY-2013MY Hino Conventional trucks
