Service bulletin ABS07102017901

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Dealer message - Honda has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the rupture of a Takata driver?s airbag inflator in a 2001 Honda Accord on June 18, 2016 at a private residence in Hialeah, Florida. While it is difficult to determine whether the cause of death in this incident was the inflator rupture, Honda now considers this to be the 11th confirmed fatality in its vehicles related to Takata airbag inflator ruptures in the U.S. Our deepest sympathies are with the family of the deceased.
