Service bulletin 1HD-G3W5Q-08

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

This bulletin provides important information on ordering serialized components for warranty or goodwill-related repairs. These parts include: Engines, Crankcases, Frames, Transmissions, Short block assemblies, Long block assemblies. Motorcycles Affected: Any VIN (Vehicle identification number) that requires a warranty or goodwill-related replacement for a serialized component. Dealers can replace a serialized component for a warranty repair or as part of a policy adjustment (goodwill) repair. Before ordering any serialized component used in either a warranty or goodwill situation, the dealer must obtain authorization. To submit the authorization request, the dealer must go to eService on h-dent.com, select the Technical Service Request link. The dealer is then prompted to fill out all the necessary information. Once repairs are completed dealer files warranty or a goodwill claim.
