# Service bulletin PIE0353A

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [10\-08\-110\-001L](/bulletins/11014171.md), 2025-02-11, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE:BODY; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. This service bulletin provides information on proper use of floor mats.
- [PIT5392D](/bulletins/10167461.md), 2019-11-12, Service bulletin: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a detent / click with a feel of increased resistance when the accelerator pedal is about ¾ of the way. The new accelerator pedal design has a built\-in detent position near the last 1/4 of pedal travel. Dealer should communicate to the customer this is a normal operating characteristic of the vehicle and no repair attempts should be performed.
- [PIT5569A](/bulletins/10163665.md), 2019-08-12, Service bulletin: WHEELS; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. This Preliminary information communicates direction and examples when diagnosing multiple DTCs, one of which includes U\*\*\*\* Byte 71 DTC.
- [18NA217](/bulletins/10161939.md), 2019-07-01, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL. This technical bulletin provides a procedure to locate and repair a possible short in the 5294 circuit and correct the customers concern.
- [PIT5392A](/bulletins/10114902.md), 2017-08-15, Service bulletin: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
- [PIP5337G](/bulletins/10114835.md), 2017-08-15, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:LINKAGES; SERVICE BRAKES. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the step to diagnose and repair the vehicles that may have a shake or shudder during light throttle acceleration, between 30 and 65 miles per hour steady state driving. Also shudder feeling that may be described as driving over rumble strips or rough pavement. Technician will need to run the vehicle in three different operational modes. The three modes are Normal, torque converter clutch open, and torque converter clutch closed. Technician will need to press and hold the tow\-haul mode button for five seconds to disable grade braking to prevent downshifts during test. Technician will need to duplicate the concern in Normal mode. If the concern is gone in torque converter clutch open and closed then the torque converter should be replaced. If the concern is not present in normal mode, torque converter clutch open, and torque converter clutch closed the concern is not with the shudder. Technician should use of the PICO scope and Noise, Vibration and Harshness software can be used to confirm torque converter clutch shudder, Engine, Tire or Driveline component related conditions. Flush the cooler lines and cooler using DT\-45096 transmission oil cooling system flush and flow test tool when the torque converter is replace.
- [PIT5392B](/bulletins/10114089.md), 2017-08-15, Service bulletin: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a detent / click with a feel of increased resistance when the accelerator pedal is about \¾ of the way. The new accelerator pedal design has a built\-in detent position near the last 1/4 of pedal travel. Dealer should communicate to the customer this is a normal operating characteristic of the vehicle and no repair attempts should be performed.
- [PIP5337C](/bulletins/10113917.md), 2017-08-15, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician a vehicle may have a shake or shudder during light throttle acceleration, between 30 and 65 mph steady driving. Technician will drive the vehicle while monitoring Torque Converter Clutch slip speed. If the Torque Converter Clutch slip speed is in the range of 10 RPM or less the condition is possibly related to engine performance. If the slip speed is beyond 10 rpm or there is shudder during Torque Converter Clutch apply the torque converter should be replaced following the instructions published in Service Information.
- [PIP5422A](/bulletins/10099875.md), 2017-05-19, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT HAVE SPEEDOMETER INACCURATE READS 5 MPH WHEN TRAVELING 50 MPH. ENGINEERING IS WORKING TO DEVELOP A SOLUTION.
