# Service bulletin PIT4417H A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned. - Type: Service bulletin - NHTSA id: 10113062 - Published by NHTSA: 2017\-08\-15 - Manufacturer's number: PIT4417H - Manufacturer's date: 2013\-06\-25 - NHTSA component: VISIBILITY; VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR ## NHTSA's summary This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about an owner that may request to have a different style mirror installed on their vehicle or request a different mirror before they purchase the vehicle. Swapping mirrors on vehicles equipped with Side Blind Zone Alert, Regular Production Option Code UFT, is not recommended. On other vehicles tech will need to verify if the vehicle is equipped with door modules or not. On vehicles with door modules technician will need to contact Techline Customer Support for new calibrations for both doors. On vehicles not equipped with door modules no calibrations are needed. ## The document - [NHTSA's copy of the document (PDF)](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10113062-9999.pdf) - [If that address does not open, try this one](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10113062-0001.pdf) The document is the manufacturer's. Information on Inside Rear View Mirror and Camera Loose Some customers may comment that the inside rear view mirror or front camera is loose or that the mirror/camera mounting bracket is loose or has fallen off. If a vehicle is encountered with the above condition, do not attempt to reinstall the bracket onto the windshield. The above listed vehicles have a revised bracket design that is not serviceable. It is necessary to replace the windshield glass assembly. The bracket comes installed on the new glass assembly. Refer to Windshield Replacement in SI. - [PI\-1255F](/bulletins/10190342.md), 2021-04-16, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR. Changing to Camper Outside Rearview Mirrors Some customers may request to have camper style mirrors installed on their vehicle. The new electrical architecture for the Silverado and Sierra has made swapping mirrors a more involved procedure than with previous models. The recommendation has been divided into three upgrades, depending on which mirrors the truck was built with \(RPO DE2, DL8 or DL3\). Please follow the correct RPO group below, because not all camper mirrors can be installed on all trucks. After selecting the correct RPO mirror the truck was built with, this PI will aid in determining which camper mirrors can be installed. - [PI\-1255E](/bulletins/10190323.md), 2021-04-16, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES; VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR.
