This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about being unable to add or replace a remote keyless transmitter when trying to use the "Without SPS" method also known as the manual learn method. Technician should be advised that engineering is aware of the concern and are working on a solution. Technician should use Service Programming System to add a remote keyless transmitter. Dealer should communicate to the customer that we apologize for this inconvenience and that General Motors is working on a solution for this concern.
