## NHTSA's summary

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with a diagnostic tip service steering message or service stability message. Technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code C056E Sym 42 and a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0569 Sym 3A setting after a new steering gear assembly was installed. If Diagnostic Trouble Code C0710 Sym 71 is set it must be addressed firth before performing a steering gear "set\-up" in Service Programming System. Steering Angle Sensor module Diagnostic Trouble Code C056D Sym 00 and it must be address first. Technician should be advised that Diagnostic Trouble Codes DTC C056E Sym 42 or C0569 Sym 3A will set when a steering gear assembly was replaced without Service Programming System programming.
