Service bulletin SER14-008

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Vector 8500 and 8600MT require a battery cable clamp as part of the unit installation. These clamps were not included when the units were shipped. An absence of clamps can lead to chaffing of the battery cable. An upgrade is available for affected units listed in the bulletin.
