# Service bulletin 122\-Z5F9U\-06

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Concerns: PDK control unit Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on certain 911 Carrera \(991\) and 911 Carrera S \(991\) vehicles. The PDK control unit can sometimes be misdiagnosed on the affected vehicles due to a software error if the engine is switched off in selector\-lever positions "P" or "D" and is then re\-started again in selector\-lever position "N". As a result, fault code "P1772 \- Gear valve 2 stuck on pressure" is stored in the fault memory of the PDK control unit and the PDK transmission switches to the reduced driving program until the ignition is switched off and on again.

Concerns: Instrument cluster Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above\-mentioned vehicles. The following fault symptoms can occur on the affected vehicles due to a software error in the instrument cluster: \* Failure of the display on the multi\-function display: The display on the multi\-function display in the instrument cluster can stop working at times under certain conditions. The display starts working again after a certain time. \* Implausible service reminder indicator display: The driver is informed that a service \(maintenance, intermediate maintenance or oil service\) is due although the mileage and date for a required service have not yet been reached.

Concerns: Control unit for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control \(PDCC\) Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above\-mentioned vehicles. Due to a software error in the control unit for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control \(PDCC\), there is a possibility that an unauthorized fault code will be stored in the control unit under certain ambient conditions. This can cause the error message "PDCC failure" to be displayed in the instrument cluster and the PDCC function will no longer be available.

Concerns: Electronic logbook in Porsche Communication Management \(PCM\) 3.1 Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above\-mentioned vehicles. Implausible entries can appear in the logbook \(e.g. negativemileage, double entries\) on the affected vehicles due to incorrect PCM software. Earlier entries in the logbook can even be overwritten in some cases.
