# Service bulletin B17040B

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- NHTSA id: 10108772
- Published by NHTSA: 2017\-07\-31
- Manufacturer's number: B17040B

## NHTSA's summary

Service news article \- Are you looking at what seems to be a rear differential axle seal or pinion seal leak? Something to keep in mind: The actual culprit may be something loose or damaged above it. A loose or damaged fluid pressure sensor will drip rear differential fluid onto the axle seal. A loose fluid pressure check port will drip that fluid onto the pinion seal.
