"ISSUED MAY 2014: DURING A RECENT MARKET VISIT IT WAS NOTED THAT A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF DEALERS HAVE BEEN CARRYING OUT PDI’S AND THEN RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO A STORAGE COMPOUND WITHOUT REFITTING THE TRANSIT RELAY OR RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO TRANSIT MODE. TRANSIT MODE / TRANSIT RELAY ARE DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE CUSTOMER’S BATTERY UP TO THE POINT OF DELIVERY. ALL VEHICLES IN STORAGE MUST HAVE THE TRANSIT RELAY IN PLACE OR BE IN TRANSIT MODE."
