14768 - SERVICE UPDATE. SERVICE PROCEDURE TO REPLACE THE CONSOLE-WIRING HARNESS ON CERTAIN 2015 MODEL YEAR CHEVROLET SUBURBAN, CHEVROLET TAHOE, GMC YUKON AND GMC YUKON XL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A CUSTOM FRONT-FLOOR CONSOLE WITHOUT COOLER. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN INCORRECT CONSOLE-WIRING HARNESS WHICH MAY CAUSE THE TRANSFER CASE, CHILD-DOOR LOCK, WINDOW LOCK, HEATED-STEERING WHEEL, PARK ASSIST AND LANE-DEPARTURE SWITCH INDICATORS TO NOT FUNCTION. THE HEATED SEATS FUNCTION AS INTENDED, BUT BECAUSE OF THE INCORRECT CONSOLE HARNESS, THE BATTERY-FEED CIRCUIT TO THE HEATED-SEAT SWITCHES IS PROTECTED BY THE WRONG FUSE AND WILL NOT BE PROPERLY PROTECTED IF A SHORT-CIRCUIT FAILURE EVER OCCURS.

Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0340 and P0341 setting at times. Technician should use normal published Service Information diagnostics. If normal Service Information diagnostics does not isolate the concern, inspect for corrosion in connector X154 located on the front cover next to the vacuum pump.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to diagnose and repair vehicles that have a no crank or a start and then immediate stall, Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator lamp may not be on when the ignition is in the run position. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0513 and or P262B may also be set. Technician will pulled the driver sill plate and inspect the wiring for damaged or corroded circuits. Technician will repair any damaged or corroded circuits.
