06020A - SPECIAL COVERAGE (MESSAGE ONLY). SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT 06020 WAS RELEASED ON JULY 21, 2006. THIS FIELD ACTION COVERS THE REPLACEMENT OF TAILGATE SUPPORT CABLES ON CERTAIN VEHICLES FOR A PERIOD OF 12 YEARS FROM THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE. GENERAL MOTORS IS MAILING PRODUCT FIELD ACTION REMINDERS TO ALL OWNERS OF RECORD WHO HAVE NOT YET HAD THE REPAIR COMPLETED ON THEIR VEHICLE AND WHO ARE STILL WITHIN THE 12 YEARS FROM THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE. OUR INTENT IS TO MAKE SURE THESE CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE IS AVAILABLE IN CASE ONE OR BOTH CABLES MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. A TOTAL OF 189,744 REMINDERS ARE BEING MAILED.
