AUDI IS EXTENDING WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE CONTINENTAL AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IN CERTAIN 2008-2010 MY VEHICLES (UNDER SPECIFIC CONDITIONS) TO 15 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST, FROM THE VEHICLE'S ORIGINAL IN-SERVICE DATE. THE VEHICLE'S IN-SERVICE DATE IS DEFINED AS THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED TO EITHER THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER OR THE ORIGINAL LESSEE; OR IF THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST PLACED IN SERVICE AS A "DEMONSTRATOR" OR "COMPANY" CAR, ON THE DATE SUCH VEHICLE WAS FIRST PLACED IN SERVICE. THIS WARRANTY EXTENSION IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE TO SUBSEQUENT OWNERS.WARRANTY KEY: U27 AIRBAG CM EXT 15/150,000 US ONLY IS ASSIGNED IN ELSA TO IDENTIFY VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY.IN RARE CASES, A POWER SUPPLY COMPONENT IN THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE MAY CORRODE AND CAUSE THE MODULE TO FAIL, TURNING ON THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON DUE TO THIS ISSUE, SAFETY SYSTEMS SUCH AS SEAT BELT PRETENSIONS AND AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF OCCUPANT INJURY.
