"VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN ECM REPROGRAMMING INTRODUCTION NISSAN IS CONDUCTING A VOLUNTARY EMISSION RECALL CAMPAIGN ON CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2015\-2016 ALTIMA, 2015\-2016 JUKE, 2016 MAXIMA, 2015\-2016 MURANO, 2015\-2016 QUEST, AND 2015\-2016 PATHFINDER VEHICLES. NISSAN HAS DISCOVERED THAT THESE VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH AN ON\-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS \(OBD\) CALIBRATION THAT, IF NOT REPAIRED, MAY NOT DETECT A REAR OXYGEN \(O2\) SENSOR SHORT\-TO\-GROUND OR SHORT\-TO\-BATTERY CONDITION. THE ECM \(ENGINE CONTROL MODULE\) WILL BE REPROGRAMMED. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED AT NO CHARGE FOR PARTS OR LABOR. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER NISSAN HAS ASSIGNED IDENTIFICATION NUMBER R1620 TO THIS CAMPAIGN. THIS NUMBER MUST APPEAR ON ALL COMMUNICATIONS AND DOCUMENTATION OF ANY NATURE DEALING WITH THIS CAMPAIGN. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY IT IS THE DEALER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK SERVICE COMM FOR THE CAMPAIGN STATUS ON EACH VEHICLE FALLING WITHIN THE RANGE OF THIS VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL WHICH FOR ANY REASON ENTERS THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Therefore, Nissan is extending the emission warranty on the Rear Oxygen Sensor in the case of a short\-to\-ground condition to 20 Years or 200,000 miles, whichever occurs first. All other warranty terms, limitations, and conditions remain unchanged. During the warranty extension period, customers are eligible for annual Rear Oxygen Sensor voltage checks, upon request, to determine if a Rear Oxygen Sensor short\-toground condition exists. If a Rear Oxygen Sensor short\-to\-ground condition does exist, Nissan will inspect and repair or replace, as necessary, the sensor or wiring and inspect for the existence of specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes \(DTCs\) for issues that may have been previously unidentified due to the short\-to\-ground condition. Only if one of the DTCs in Table A are first found after a short\-to\-ground repair, the corresponding issue\(s\) will also be corrected according to the service manual at no charge for parts and labor as part of this warranty extension.
