Service bulletin B16080F

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

SERVICE NEWS ARTICLE - WITH ALL OF THE REPAIRS BEING DONE ON THE SRS, IT CAN BE EASY TO FORGET OR IGNORE SRS SAFETY. AT THIS TIME, PROBABLY EVERY VEHICLE IN YOUR SHOP HAS SRS, SO EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT WORKING DIRECTLY ON A SRS COMPONENT, YOU STILL MIGHT BE WORKING NEAR ONE. THAT’S WHY IT’S SO IMPORTANT THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND PRACTICE SRS SAFETY. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN AN UNINTENDED DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE INJURY. WITH THAT IN MIND, HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT GUIDELINES YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY FOLLOW.
