THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THE FLOOR CENTER CONSOLE SLIDING COMPARTMENT DOOR IS BROKEN. UPON INSPECTION IT MAY BE FOUND THAT THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH OPEN, OR MAY BE LOCKED IN THE CLOSED POSITION. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE COMPARTMENT SLIDING DOOR LATCH, GENERAL MOTORS PART NUMBER 23417257. DEALER SHOULD ADVISE THE CUSTOMER ON PROPER PUSH\-PUSH OPERATION FOR THE SLIDING DOOR.
