Service bulletin 122-U8L3A-09

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

There is a possibility that the bolt for the internal axial fixing device for the rear drive shafts on the affected vehicles can become corroded over the service life of the vehicle and break as a result. Given that the drive shafts are supported in tripod joints, this has no effect on vehicle handling. Replace axial fixing device for rear drive shafts. The vehicle must be checked for defects and damage (damage to paintwork, missing parts, etc.) each time it is handed over, transferred or delivered. Confirmation that the vehicle is in good condition or details of any damage to the vehicle must be documented and archived for feedback purposes.
