14516 - SERVICE UPDATE. THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES A SERVICE PROCEDURE TO REPROGRAM THE SENSING AND DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM) ON CERTAIN VEHICLES. AFTER SERVICE REPLACEMENT OF SDMS WHICH CONTAIN THE INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNIT (IMU), THE IMU SENSOR SHOULD BE RE-ZEROED. THE SDM SET UP PROCEDURE WHICH IS RUN AFTER REPLACEMENT DID NOT HAVE THE PROCESS TO RE-ZERO THE IMU SENSOR FOR THESE VEHICLES. THIS OMISSION DOES NOT IMPACT AIRBAG PERFORMANCE; HOWEVER, SOME ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULES (EBCM) WILL NOT ACTIVATE THE HILL HOLD ASSIST (HAS) FEATURE UNTIL THIS PROCESS IS PERFORMED.
