Service bulletin 01-171-13

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

BEGINNING WITH THE VIN NUMBERS LISTED IN THE CHART BELOW, BODY PLUGS MUST BE INSTALLED INTO THE TIE-DOWN HOLES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE DURING PDI. THE PLUGS ARE PLACED IN THE VEHICLE’S GLOVE BOX DURING PORT PROCESSING. THE INSTALLATION OF THESE PLUGS ELIMINATES THESE OPENINGS AS A SOURCE OF DUST INTRUSION INTO THE VEHICLE.
