"DESCRIPTION TWO ISSUES HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED WITH THE EVENT DATA RECORDERS (EDR) INSTALLED IN 2013-2014 MODEL YEAR XJ VEHICLES WITHIN THE LISTED VIN RANGE. THE EDR IS NOW REQUIRED TO RECORD SOME VEHICLE DATA WHICH CERTAIN USA AGENCIES (POLICE, ETC.) MAY USE FOR CRASH INVESTIGATION PURPOSES. TWO ELEMENTS OF THE DATA THAT SHOULD BE RECORDED ARE NOT STORED IN THE CORRECT FORMAT. CONSEQUENTLY, IN THIS CONDITION VEHICLES DO NOT MEET ALL THE REQUIREMENTS OF 49 CFR PART 563 - EVENT DATA RECORDERS. THIS SERVICE ACTION SUPERSEDES UPDATE PRIOR TO SALE NOTICE UPS4913 WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. VEHICLES ALREADY UPDATED UNDER UPS4913 (PROGRAM CODE K188) ARE NOT AFFECTED."
