# Service bulletin SB\-16\-NA\-043

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

THIS TECHNICAL BULLETIN PROVIDES A PROCEDURE TO WHAT FREQUENCY TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR SENSOR SHOULD BE INSTALLED ON THE CAR FOR ACCESSORY WHEELS TO CORRECT A CONCERN THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR SENSOR TOOL WILL READ THE SENSOR BUT UNABLE TO LEARN THE SENSORS TO THE CAR DUE TO THE INCORRECT MHZ TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR SENSOR BEING INSTALLED IN THE TIRE/WHEEL ASSEMBLY.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [07\-03\-16\-004E](/bulletins/10231519.md), 2023-02-08, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; WHEELS; TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS. This service bulletin provides information for tire pressure monitoring \(TPM\) system concerns.
- [000090002L](/bulletins/10213757.md), 2022-06-13, Service bulletin: TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS. This service bulletin provides information for accurate tire pressures that ensure the safe handling and appropriate ride characteristics of GM cars and trucks.
- [PIP4723C](/bulletins/10157018.md), 2019-04-08, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communicates to the dealer the process for downloading or updating operating software for the Tire Pressure Monitor, Active Fuel Injector tester, multi media tester, PICO Scope, GR8 starting/charging tester and Vehicle Data Recorder tools, giving website address and step by step instructions to complete the update.
- [PIC5414F](/bulletins/10113926.md), 2017-08-15, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician what affects electric range and provides driving tips for better energy efficiency. Vehicles may have an electric range is less than customer expectations or what is being displayed on the in\-vehicle display for EV range. The distance you can go in an electric vehicle varies with the outside temperature. All electric vehicles are less efficient in cold or hot conditions. This is a function of battery storage capability and increased use of cabin heat and/or air conditioning in these conditions. The vehicle must also maintain a consistent battery temperature in order to maintain desired long term performance. Tire pressure can have an impact on the electric range also. Additionally tire pressures can change with temperature changes. In order to maximize your electric range, ensure that your tires are properly inflated. For proper tire pressure, review the Owner?s manual and the vehicle tire and loading information label. Using the heat and air conditioning systems decreases the energy available for electric driving. Optimal energy efficiency is achieved with the heat, air conditioning, and fan turned off. Driving uphill requires more energy and can reduce electric range.
- [PIC5414G](/bulletins/10111731.md), 2017-08-15, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician what affects electric range and provides driving tips for better energy efficiency. Vehicles may have an electric range is less than customer expectations or what is being displayed on the in\-vehicle display for EV range. Technician should review the last version of PIC6231 if working on a 2017 Volt. The distance you can go in an electric vehicle varies with the outside temperature. - [16NA043](/bulletins/10082277.md), 2016-10-13, Service bulletin: TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS; EQUIPMENT. THIS INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN PROVIDES THE CORRECT INFORMATION THAT IS NEEDED TO CORRECTLY KNOW WHAT TPM SENSOR IS NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED ON VEHICLES IF THERE IS ACCESSORY WHEELS INSTALLED AND WHO TO CONTACT WHEN THE ACCESSORY WHEELS WILL NOT LEARN THE TPM'S TO THE VEHICLES.
