Service bulletin 09-006/16
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
FRONT POWER SEATS DO NOT SLIDE BACK AND FORTH. SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMPLAIN THAT THE FRONT POWER (DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER) SEATS DO NOT SLIDE BACK AND FORTH PROPERLY OR THAT THEY MAY BE COMPLETELY INOPERATIVE. THIS CONCERN MAY BE CAUSED BY A FOREIGN OBJECT GETTING STUCK UNDER THE POWER SLIDE UNIT (BELOW) WHILE IN OPERATION. THIS CAN CAUSE MOTOR MOUNTING BRACKET (A) DEFORMATION, RESULTING IN MOTOR CABLE (B) BREAKAGE.

To eliminate this concern, the play in the lift mechanism gears has been reduced. |
