Torque Converter Lockup Backing Plate Bolt Torque Increase for 3000 Product Family the Allison Transmission, Inc. 3000 Product Family Transmission Service Manual (SM4013) has increased the torque specification for the torque converter lockup backing plate bolt to 3540 N∙m (2630 lb ft) with a target torque of 37.5 N∙m (28 lb ft). Existing service manuals (SM4013 and SM2148) that show a torque specification of 3035 N∙m (2226 lb ft) for the torque converter lockup backing plate bolt should be changed to 3540 N∙m (2630 lb ft) in Section 5 and the foldout.
