Service bulletin TSB-14-0141

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A recall listed here may apply to some of the same vehicles. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle.

Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component
SSM 518542023-09-04. Service bulletin. Various 2013-2019 vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P264F after powertrain control module (PCM) replacement. This DTC indicates that the engine serial number (ESN) must be programmed into the PCM. The ESN is located on PTS > Diagnostics tab > HVBoM > Features > Engine Serial Number. Once the ESN is obtained from the historical vehicle bill of materials (HvBOM), it can be programmed into the PCM using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Navigate to the toolbox tab> powertrain menu> Service Functions> ESN.
SSM 518492023-09-01. The ESN is located on PTS> OASIS> Features> Engine Serial Number. Once the ESN is obtained from the historical vehicle bill of materials (HvBOM), it can be programmed into the PCM using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Navigate to the toolbox tab> powertrain menu> Service Functions> ESN.
SSM 506362022-03-29. Service bulletin. 2011-2022 F-Super Duty and 2016-2023 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR. The powertrain control module estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 RPM for ambient temperatures near 26°C (80°F) and may increase to 1200 RPM at -40 °C (-40°F). Vehicles may exhibit exhaust smoke and diesel exhaust fluid smell during elevated idle condition. Exhaust smoke and smell condition will not affect reliability or durability of the engine. Power take-off (PTO) use and idle set point control will disable elevated speed. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to any Exhaust Filter warning messages.
SSM 500962021-09-28. Service bulletin. Some 2013-2016 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an Exhaust System Fluid Fault message and a forced idle mode with various diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). A video explaining how to remove the vehicle from forced idle mode has been added to the Technical Support Videos under the Technical Assistance tab on PTS. The video can be accessed using the following web link, http://site-307934.bcvp0rtal.com/detail/videos/303---engine/video/6258842975001/2013-2016-f-super-duty-exhaust-fluid-fault-procedure.
16-00602020-12-07. Service bulletin. Some 2012-2016 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 6.8L engine built on or before 4/6/2016 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTCs P0627, P025A, P025B and/or U0109 stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory.
SSM 478232019-04-08. Service bulletin. 18N042018-11-19. Service bulletin. Certain 2014-2016 Model Year F-250 ? F-550 and 2016 Model Year F-650 - F-750 Vehicles, With 6.7L Diesel Engine - Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Assembly. Certain 2018 Model Year F-150 and 2019 Model Year F-250 through F-550 Superduty Vehicles Equipped with a Diesel Engine - Powertrain Control Module Reprogramming
SSM 475972018-11-19. Service bulletin. Some 2013-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with only DTC P2074 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a dirty air filter, replace the filter if necessary. Do not replace the PCM or mass air flow (MAF) sensor for this concern. Instead perform a MAF parameter reset under: Toolbox > Powertrain > Service Functions > Reset/Clear Specified Function > Reset/Clear Functions > MAF Sensor. Engineering is investigating. Monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 469002018-01-29. Service bulletin. Some vehicles may exhibit a no start condition with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and a DTC P161A after PCM replacement. This may be due to the parameter reset procedure not being properly completed. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select - Toolbox - Body - Security - PATS Functions - Parameter Reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedure will transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01. Missing or lost keys are not warrantable.
SSM 464512017-05-17. Service bulletin. 2009-2017 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 6R80, 6R100, 6R140 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAVE AN UPDATED MAIN CONTROL VALVE BODY OVERHAUL PROCEDURE. REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL (WSM), SECTION 307-01 FOR MAIN CONTROL VALVE BODY (7A100) OVERHAUL PROCEDURES. NOT ALL VALVE BODIES REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. INSPECT THE VALVE BODY BORES, SPRINGS AND VALVES AS DIRECTED DURING DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. REFER TO GENERAL SERVICE BULLETIN (GSB) G0000093 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAIN CONTROL INSPECTION FOR A VIDEO CLIP TO AID IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF THESE REPAIRS.
