# Service bulletin TSB\-10\-18\-2

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- [23B63](/bulletins/10248068.md), 2024-01-02, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION; POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Certain 2011\-2012 Model Year F\-Series Super Duty Vehicles Equipped with 6.7L Diesel Engine State Inspection and Maintenance Testing Failure Due to DTCs P2073 and/or P2074
- [SSM 50636](/bulletins/10209384.md), 2022-03-29, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. 2011\-2022 F\-Super Duty and 2016\-2023 F\-650/F\-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR. The powertrain control module estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 RPM for ambient temperatures near 26°C \(80°F\) and may increase to 1200 RPM at \-40 °C \(\-40°F\). Vehicles may exhibit exhaust smoke and diesel exhaust fluid smell during elevated idle condition. Exhaust smoke and smell condition will not affect reliability or durability of the engine. Power take\-off \(PTO\) use and idle set point control will disable elevated speed. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to any Exhaust Filter warning messages.
- [SSM 49805](/bulletins/10194421.md), 2021-06-01, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2011\-2021 vehicles equipped with a diesel engine may have engine oil in the exhaust after turbocharger replacement for various reasons. To correct the condition, remove the exhaust and stand the exhaust up with the turbocharger inlet side facing down using a suitable drain pan. Allow the exhaust to drain for at least 24 hours and reinstall. Do not perform a manual exhaust regeneration.
- [SSM 46900](/bulletins/10127405.md), 2018-01-29, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit a no start condition with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) and a DTC P161A after PCM replacement. This may be due to the parameter reset procedure not being properly completed. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System \(IDS\) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select \- Toolbox \- Body \- Security \- PATS Functions \- Parameter Reset. Follow the on\-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedure will transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 419\-01. Missing or lost keys are not warrantable.
- [SSM 46085](/bulletins/10109070.md), 2017-08-01, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CATALYTIC CONVERTOR; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE \(EGR VALVE\); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:HOSES/LINES/PIPING/FITTINGS; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:RADIATOR ASSEMBLY; ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE \(PCV\); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:BELTS AND ASSOCIATED PULLEYS; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN. The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis \(PC/ED\) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies \(ETBs\). The ETC\_ACT and ETC\_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
- [SSM 46451](/bulletins/10099463.md), 2017-05-17, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. 2009\-2017 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 6R80, 6R100, 6R140 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAVE AN UPDATED MAIN CONTROL VALVE BODY OVERHAUL PROCEDURE. REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL \(WSM\), SECTION 307\-01 FOR MAIN CONTROL VALVE BODY \(7A100\) OVERHAUL PROCEDURES. NOT ALL VALVE BODIES REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. INSPECT THE VALVE BODY BORES, SPRINGS AND VALVES AS DIRECTED DURING DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. REFER TO GENERAL SERVICE BULLETIN \(GSB\) G0000093 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAIN CONTROL INSPECTION FOR A VIDEO CLIP TO AID IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF THESE REPAIRS.
