# Service bulletin TB\-37\-09\-02

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10030119
- Published by NHTSA: 2009\-08\-05
- Manufacturer's number: TB\-37\-09\-02
- Manufacturer's date: 2009\-04\-15
- NHTSA component: WHEELS; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\)

## NHTSA's summary

AUDI: WHEN PULLING AWAY, THE ACCELERATOR RESPONSE IS VERY PROMPT. THE DRIVING WHEELS MAY BREAK TRACTION AT MEDIUM THROTTLE APPLICATION ON LOW TRACTION SURFACES. ACCELERATION IS DELIBERATELY SPORTY. THE ENGINES ALREADY DEVELOP THEIR MAXIMUM TORQUE AT 1500 RPM. \*PE

When changing the oil filter and installing the new filter seal\(s\) in the oil filter housing, special attention is required.
- [26 13 17 2027945](/bulletins/10212658.md), 2022-05-31, Service bulletin: ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Humming or metallic rattling noise from under the vehicle, heard most consistently during engine idle or slow acceleration. Initial inspection indicates that the noise is coming from the exhaust system. Relative movements in the rear mounting of the exhaust system \(rear silencer\).
- [37 14 31 2013002](/bulletins/10210680.md), 2022-05-02, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:FLUID/LUBRICANT:SEALS/GASKETS. As the sump pan gasket settles, the torque of the bolts decreases and the seal may leak. Automatic transmission fluid is leaking at the sump pan gasket.
- [37 13 09 2028715](/bulletins/10210652.md), 2022-05-02, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:GEARS. After a mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox replacement, the clutches must be adapted to the new component. This requires a gradual move of the clutch linings toward the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. As a result, sporadic driving power disruptions lasting for less than a second or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles. This is normal, and these issues will decrease over time. The issues can also occur if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted.
- [37 12 75 2029808](/bulletins/10210642.md), 2022-05-02, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). New software in the Transmission Control Module \(J217\) addressed the condition.
- [A371311 2021193\-](/bulletins/10124667.md), 2017-12-05, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 13\-81 dated January 16, 2013. Vehicle shudders briefly before a stop. Gearbox downshift uncomfortable at low speeds. At speeds below 6 mph, the vehicle shudders briefly when coming to a stop. Because of an unfavorable adjustment between engine and gearbox, the vehicle can shudder under certain driving conditions when changed from second to first gear.
- [A371431 2013002\-](/bulletins/10122418.md), 2017-11-08, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:COOLING UNIT AND LINES; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 11\-19 dated January 31, 2011. Automatic transmission fluid is leaking at the sump pan gasket. As the sump pan gasket settles, the torque of the bolts decreases and the seal may leak.
